We are an organization driven and motivated to change the African leadership narrative. We focus on working with young people because, we believe they are the leaders of tomorrow.
At Kuelimika Kwa Africa, we believe that by focusing on today, the future of African leadership can be positive and impactful. Our organization was initiated by young people born and bred in Africa. They understand the gaps and challenges that arise from poor governance, which has unfortunately been the case for far too long within African states.
According to the World Economic Forum, by 2030, one in five people will be African. Combining the continent’s soaring population with technology, improvements in infrastructure, health, and education, Africa could be the next century’s economic growth powerhouse.
Africa will account for more than half (54%) of the 2.4 billion global population growth in the coming decades. Additionally, United Nations predicts that between 2015 and 2050, Africa will add 1.3 billion people, more than doubling its current population of 1.2 billion.
In 1950, only about 10% of the world’s children were African. As part of the continent’s phenomenal population growth, UNICEF predicts that 2 billion babies will be born in Africa over the next 33 years. High fertility and improving child survival rates mean that by 2050, 40% of under-fives and more than a third of all children under 18 will be African.
Kuelimika Kwa Africa therefore has a very important role in ensuring the hopes, dreams and aspirations of Africans today and tomorrow are taken care of by empowering young Africans to be able to propel their nations and the whole continent to meet its full potential and be the place where all Africans will want to live and work from for centuries to come.
To contribute to the prosperity, sustainable development, and integration of Africa.
To provide mentorship for young Africans in leadership through knowledge enhancement, skills development, innovation, and networking.
We have a Rafiki platform that helps us promote our programs for young Africans through social networks. Rafiki is a Swahili word which means friend. We believe the personal touch in seeking young Africans to join our programs embodies the warm approach that leaders are famed for across the world.
We as founders also realized that a number of programs don’t have a follow-up system to guide young Africans to practicalize and make effective use of the knowledge acquired. We believe that Kuelimika Kwa Africa will give an adequate avenue in which young Africans can champion their cause by placing emphasis on the actualization of their full potential while embracing their identity as Africans.
